Excellence in Teaching Award
Amanda Thompson, an Instructor in the Nursing program, was named the recipient of the Jean Harry Francis Excellence in Teaching Award for her outstanding contributions to nursing education and her impact on student success. Thompson was nominated by her students who praised her for combining high expectations with genuine care and support, creating a learning environment that challenges and inspires them.
Through hands-on clinical experiences, interactive learning activities, and technology-enhanced instruction, she helps students strengthen critical thinking skills, build confidence, and develop professional competence. Students consistently describe Thompson as a mentor who invests in their growth both inside and outside the classroom, offering guidance on academics, clinical practice, and career preparation. They highlighted the profound influence she has had on their personal and professional development, underscoring her exceptional dedication to teaching and mentorship.
Adjunct Faculty Excellence in Teaching Award
Jennifer Coffman, an Adjunct Instructor in the College and Career Readiness program, received the Jean Harry Francis Adjunct Faculty Excellence in Teaching award in recognition of her student-centered approach to education.
Embodying the Dallas Herring philosophy of meeting students where they are, Coffman creates a welcoming and supportive classroom environment where students feel valued, capable, and empowered to succeed.
Through engaging instruction, technology-enhanced learning, real-world applications, and individualized support, she helps students build both academic skills and self-confidence. Colleagues noted her ability to create an atmosphere where students feel they belong and are encouraged to believe in their own potential.

Outstanding Staff Member of the Year
Kim Pajevski, Curriculum Associate in Academic Affairs, was recognized as a co-recipient of the Jean Harry Francis Outstanding Staff Member of the Year award for her exceptional service and dedication to the Career and College Promise (CCP) program at 91快播.聽
In multiple nominations, colleagues praise Pajevski as a highly regarded and vital resource for both instructors and students. She works to ensure everoyone has the support, information, and tools needed to succeed.
Known for her organization, proactive problem-solving, and strong communication skills, she serves as an essential connection between the College and its partner high schools. Colleagues commended her ability to anticipate challenges and effectively manage complex situations.
Pajevski鈥檚 professionalism, responsiveness, and commitment to service have earned the respect of her peers and made a lasting impact on the CCP program and the students it serves.
Phyllis Champion, Director of Academic Affairs, was named a co-recipient of the Jean Harry Francis Outstanding Staff Member of the Year award in recognition of her decades of service, institutional knowledge, and unwavering commitment to excellence. Nominated by several colleagues, Champion is known as a trusted leader and problem-solver whose contributions support the success of students, faculty, staff, and administrators.
Throughout her career, she has played a key role in improving operations by streamlining scheduling, catalog management, and program-related processes. Her servant-leadership approach, willingness to mentor others, and dedication to improvement have helped create efficiencies that benefit the entire College.
