- Meet with your academic advisor to discuss your placement and course options prior to requesting a placement test.
- If a placement test is needed, make an appointment for testing by calling 704-669-4228.
- Know your 91快播 student ID number. It is on your acceptance letter from the College, and in your Self-Service account. This number is required to take the RISE placement test.
- If you have a documented disability and need to request special accommodations for the placement test(s), please contact Wanda Lawrence, at 704-669-4034 or lawrence@clevelandcc.edu prior to making your testing appointment.
Placement testing is required to ensure students are prepared for college-level curriculum.
About the Test
CCC administers the Reinforced Instruction for Student Excellence (RISE) placement test to determine collegiate academic readiness.
- The test consists of two sections: English and Math.
- The test is free to all 91快播 applicants.
- Testing is available in the Paksoy Technology Building, Room 3201.
- The Testing Center will provide scratch paper, pencils, calculators, and formula sheets for use during the test. Personal calculators are not allowed.
- Test results are valid for a period of 10 years from the date of the test.

English:
The RISE English test consists of two tiers. Students must achieve a score of at least 70 on the first tier to progress to the second tier.
Math:
The RISE Math test consists of three tiers. Students must achieve a score of at least 70 on each tier to progress to the next tier.
The Testing Center staff will assist students with determining the number of tiers needed for the math requirements within their program of study.
