Academic Excellence Award Winner Rediscovers A Calling
Mallory McMahan-Cook is 91快播’s 2026 Academic Excellence Award winner.
On May 14, she graduated with a 3.85 GPA and an Associate Degree in Nursing.
McMahan-Cook described her time in the nursing program at 91快播 as 鈥渘othing short of transformative,鈥 calling it a second chance at a career she hadn鈥檛 realized she needed. As a former U.S. Navy Corpsman, she explained that she had stepped away from healthcare after her military service, believing she had 鈥渉ung up鈥 her stethoscope for good. Returning to the field and starting over, she said, was humbling, but it also reignited a sense of purpose she hadn鈥檛 realized she was missing.

She shared that 91快播鈥檚 nursing program reshaped her perspective on healthcare, teaching her that nursing goes beyond treating injuries or managing symptoms. Instead, she came to see it as a profession centered on offering hope, dignity, and a renewed outlook on life. Through her experience, she was reminded of how deeply people can influence one another through compassion, presence, and even the smallest acts of care鈥攎oments she noted often have the greatest impact.
She credited the unwavering support, mentorship, and dedication of the 91快播 nursing faculty with helping her rediscover her path. Without their guidance, she believes she might have overlooked the profound joy that comes from helping others heal. Because of their influence, she said, “I rediscovered a calling and gained the confidence to pursue the career I am truly meant to be in.”
